Kazakhstan physicians to be trained to work with national drug formularies

Kazakhstan MHSD trains a team of experts to teach physicians to work with the National drug formularies, Kazpravda.kz reports citing the press service of the Ministry.

June 20-21 Astana hosted a seminar on the use of the new, free Kazakhstan national drug formulary (hereinafter - KNF), with free access for patients and physicians. For two days, international consultants and specialists of Kazakhstan MHSD shared on the pros of the KNF, and instructed how to prescribe medicines to patients, using the new resource. The participants received the materials that will help them conduct appropriate training in their organizations to widely spread this knowledge.

June 23-24, a similar workshop will be held in Aktobe, 27-28 June - in Almaty.

Recall, Kazakhstan national drug formulary has been developed with the participation of international consultants from the UK and New Zealand, the developers of the formulary in their own countries - Duncan Enright, Managing Director of EBN Health and David Woods, clinical director of the company.

KNF includes drugs with proven clinical efficacy, modeled on the principles of the best formularies from around the world. It is available online at knf.kz, it is easy to use both on computers and smartphones and tablets. KNF is constantly updated to provide the latest information in the Kazakh and Russian languages.

Its purpose is to ensure the rational use of medicines and affordable pharmaceutical care to every citizen, regardless of their social status and income level.
